UPDATE: No working smoke detectors found in house of deadly fire The West Virginia State Fire Marshal's Office reports there were no working smoke alarms in a home where a fire killed three people and injured two others. The fire broke out about 7:30 a.m. Thursday along Elk River Road in the Sugar Creek area. Fire investigators say the victims of the fire were adults.
